Citation Taverne & Restaurant is housed within the landmark former Sheriff Court building on Wilson Street, in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City. You can do your own jokes about their turkey being so tasty it's criminal. It is a very handsome restaurant space and those who want to carry on socialising long after their meal can head to the ground floor bar.
Scottish produce
Citation’s kitchen team like to create seasonal menus using the best produce from Scotland, the rest of the UK and further afield. Dishes on the festive menu include starters such as the classic prawn cocktail and a Mediterranean vegetable and quinoa salad featuring harissa-marinated tofu and hummus.
From the main courses, we like the sound of the baked fillet of salmon with a mussel and clam broth but could see our way clear to tackling the paupiette of free-range turkey wrapped in bacon, served with sage and onion stuffing, creamed potato and cranberry jus.
Baked

Ashoka Southside

We love a turkey dinner as much as the next Christmas
superfan but we also like to spice things up occasionally and would happily
swap our Brussels for some Bombay bakra. A mainstay of Indian cuisine in
Glasgow’s Southside since 1991, Ashoka
on Clarkston Road can take your Christmas Day dinner somewhere rather more
exotic.
Friendly service & freshly prepared Indian cuisine
The friendly team at Ashoka Southside aim to
provide a memorable dining experience, from the efficient service in the
restaurant to the skilful chefs preparing delicious dishes in the kitchen. Main

Atlantic Brasserie
£19.95 for 2 courses on December Set Menu
Located on St Vincent Place, Atlantic Bar and Brasserie is a French restaurant on the lower ground floor, underneath sister restaurant The Anchor Line. Inspired by an early Glasgow pop-up restaurant which was built for the Empire Exhibition of 1938, Atlantic offers a contemporary French brasserie and bar in a sophisticated and glamorous vintage setting.
Modern and classic French dishes
The December set menu pretty much guarantees a joyeux Noel! We would say 'Bonjour!' to the terrine served with spiced apple chutney, cornichons and toasted pain de campagne followed by the half, spit-roasted chicken marinated with smoked paprika and thyme served with goose fat roast potatoes, honey roasted vegetables and roasting juices. Naturally, there are also veggie, vegan and seafood/fish options.

A Taste of Italy - Sannino - The Show Before The Show
£45 for 3 courses on Christmas Day Menu + Drink
A Little Taste of Italy is a cosy and lively restaurant in Glasgow city centre, near the Kings Theatre. It offers authentic Italian cuisine made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant also has a mini cocktail bar where guests can enjoy drinks while listening to live background music.
Go Italian for Christmas dinner
There is a lot of choice on A Taste of Italy's Christmas Day menu. From the starters, we can't decide between the calamari, the chicken liver paté or the mozzarella and mushroom rice balls. For the main courses, the roast turkey with all the trimmings will always be a contender but so are the spaghetti carbonara, the classic lasagne and the pizza. Perhaps we should just go for the signature dish, a mixed grill featuring a mini steak fillet, chicken breast, Italian sausage, truffled mash, spinach and a red wine jus.

Van Winkle
£15.95 for 2 courses on the Christmas Menu
Launched at the tail end of 2017, Van Winkle is an American-style bar on the Gallowgate in Glasgow’s fast changing Calton neighbourhood. Bourbon, BBQ and burgers are the mainstays of the menus and, as you might expect, the decor also takes its cue from the US of A. Artfully stressed corrugated tin, stripped wood tables and brick walls all give the feeling that you might just have stepped into a honky tonk in the Kentucky backwoods.
Do Christmas Kentucky-style
The menu is here but we're a fixin' to start with buttermilk turkey tenders followed by a half rack of smoked baby back ribs with Makers Mark BBQ sauce. Of course, there are also veggie options like the Van Winkle Christmas veggie burger.

Agua
£50 for 3 course Christmas Day Menu + Glass of Fizz
Part of the Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel, Agua Restaurant is on the Grassmarket in Edinburgh’s city centre. Sitting in the shadows of Edinburgh Castle, the restaurant is a bright, contemporary space with striking yellow banquette seating and wall mounted candle lights. Perfect for a cheery Christmas Day dinner.
Local produce
Scotland’s natural larder is at the heart of Agua Restaurant and the kitchen uses local produce to create Scottish dishes as well as choices which have a more international flavour. With two starters, three main courses and two desserts, their Christmas Day menu is as concise as it is well chosen.
Guests can start with cauliflower and black truffle soup or chicken liver parfait on toasted brioche. As well as the traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, the main course options are the haddock and Atlantic prawn fishcake or the vegetable Bourguignon. Choose between Christmas pudding or chocolate and orange mousse cake for dessert. Tea or coffee and a glass of fizz on arrival are included.
