Cocktail Week (ECW) starts Monday 14th October and runs through to Sunday
20th. You up for it?
You can't fault the organiser's ambition for this year's ECW. It has expanded on several fronts.
There are now more than 70 cocktail bars taking part throughout Edinburgh and the Cocktail Village on Festival Square has grown to include a forest-themed extension.
Should you want to go camping with cocktails, this 'dark, enchanted space', features a wigwam, pop-up bars, giant toadstools, log seating, a forest floor and canopy plus a twinkling night sky.
If glamping is more your thing then look up to the rooftop cocktail domes at The Glasshouse Hotel.
These are transparent domes which comfortably sit eight guests. Kitted out with sofas, cushions, blankets and fairy lights, they will offer a cute and cosy space to hang out in.
Entry to the rooftop garden is free with an ECW wristband but reservations are essential to guarantee exclusive use of a cocktail dome.
There will also be a number of free-to-enter domes available for walk-ins offered on a first-come basis. Cocktails can be enjoyed in the garden area and hotel bar if visitors wish to wait for seats in domes to become available.
As well as all the bars which are joining in, one of the major pillars of ECW is the Cocktail Village.
Nineteen pop-up bars
Decorated in the style of an autumn garden with grass flooring, a clear rooftop, swings, picnic tables and floral installations, the Cocktail Village will keep the crowds entertained with nineteen pop-up bars, street food, master classes and live music.
Of course, it's not just about cocktails. There will also be craft beers on offer from Pilot Beer and a selection of food available from The Shawarma Shack, Norelli Pizza, The Butcher Boy and The Mac Shack in a new stretch tent-covered street food area.
Perhaps most importantly, all cocktails within the Cocktail Village and Forest are £4 and all of the 70+ bars will be serving a £4 signature cocktail.
To gain entry to the Village, the rooftop garden or purchase the signature cocktails in the bars, you will need an ECW wristband.
Wristbands are on sale now priced at £6 for a weekday wristband (valid Monday-Friday), £8 for a weekend wristband (valid Saturday and Sunday) and £13.50 for a week-long wristband.
