Italian or Sunday roast?
For example, Piccolino in Edinburgh have, among other main dishes, both paccheri pasta with fresh crabmeat and creamy burrata cheese plus melanzana della mamma- a whole aubergine filled with Mozzarella and basil, baked in tomato sauce, garlic and topped with a sprinkle of Parmigiano.
We would follow that with a dessert of chocolate and almond
cake but suspect that mum may get stuck into the torta ricotta e pere - a light
and fluffy cake with rum-poached pears in a creamy sweet ricotta cream, served
with chocolate sauce.
Piccolino are charging £21.95 for two courses on their Mother's Day menu.
In Glasgow, 29 - The Grill at the Square have two courses from the Mother's Day menu at £25.
As well as a selection of different roasts, the main courses on the menu include a baked fillet of smoked haddock with Bombay new potatoes and buttery peas plus a dish of free-range chicken breast, mushroom and basil pesto tagliatelle, all served with a white wine velouté.
Afternoon tea?

If you suspect that mater may prefer afternoon tea then how about this offer at Cranachan? For £25, mum can enjoy the Mother's Day afternoon tea with a glass of pink Prosecco and tea or coffee.
As well as lots of different sorts of sarnie, the afternoon tea includes mini plain and cherry scones with clotted cream and honey plus a selection of cakes. We have our beady eyes on the chocolate and peanut butter stack.
