Buckle up for a quick-fire, fly-through of some eye-catching new entries on Glasgow's restaurant charts.

First up, say 'Hiya' to Rafa's Diner on Glasgow's elusive Hidden Lane.

Hailing from Arizona, Gregory Forrest is rustling up burritos and tacos from his home state. We are not experts by any means but, apparently, Arizona scran is like southern Californian/northern Mexican grub.

This means tacos packed with fish in a Tecate beer batter; cheese-stuffed chillies and, OMG, burritos filled with flank steak, fries, crema, cheese and salsa.

A combo which we would happily have a cardiac for.

Seafood tapas

We also have our eye on Pescado, a new seafood tapas place which is taking shape on Hyndland Street.

Our spidey senses tell us that it is from the same team that run the Tinto restaurants in Glasgow Southside, Uddingston and East Kilbride.

It is going to be a while before we are strolling along the prom at Malaga so the promise of some seafood tapas is pretty compelling right now. We'll bring you more news at opening.

On the subject of openings, we are delighted to see that The Garage on Sauchiehall Street has - at least until things begin to resemble some form of normality - rebranded as Electric Gardens. Main pic, taken from Garage Facebook.

It is an indoor beer garden and will hopefully help ensure that The Garage can return as  a club and music venue at some point in the future.

Older readers may recall that The Garage used to be called Electric Gardens back in the Seventies and Eighties.

It played host to everyone from Pink Floyd and T-Rex to Slade.

Toastie hoose

We will also draw your attention to Babos which opens on Pollokshaws Road today. It is billed as a 'toastie hoose', a culinary concept of which we heartily approve.

Almost last but certainly not least, The Osprey in Johnstone is now The Spateston Inn. The community bar has a menu packed with pub grub faves such as fish 'n' chips, burgers, mixed grills and a beef and ale pie.

Tapas Big Deal

If anyone is still idly daydreaming about a fortnight on the Costa del Sol, you might want to take a look at this Big Deal from Sangria in Hamilton.

Close your eyes, imagine the sun on your skin and tuck into paella or tapas plus wine for two for £19 or £29.

Muy bueno!
