The bistro at HdV Edinburgh

As always, the Hotel du Vin people are keeping busy. At the Edinburgh hotel, they are having a Chilean wine lunch on Saturday 4 December. Magnums of vintage Altair are promised and master sommelier Nigel Wilkinson will guide guests through the complexities of the South American country’s vineyards. Tickets cost £45 for a four course lunch and matching wines.

At Glasgow’s Hotel du Vin, the staff are gearing up to host a winter wonderland market on Sunday 12 December. Visitors will be able to browse stalls offering a range of festive goodies including Christmas puddings and cheeses from Alistair Clarks, turkeys from St Brides Farm, breads from Delice de France, jams and chutneys from Jampanee and chocolates from Crymbles.

Hotel du Vin will be offering yuletide classics including mulled wine and mince pies while pianist David Farrell will perform a selection of Christmas carols and songs. Entry is free and funds raised from sales of mulled wine, mince pies and a raffle will go to Hotel du Vin’s Christmas charities, Yorkhill Children’s Hospital and Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation.
