What's new, pussycat?

[][1]
In the red corner, weighing in at two kilos, we have Rocky the Lobster

The Lobster Shack is a new venture which is hoping to crack the crustacean market in North Berwick. Based on the town’s harbour, it is, surprise, a shack selling locally landed crab, lobster, langoustines and mackerel along with Shetland rope-grown mussels.

As much as possible is bought direct from the boats.

From Saturday, they are open seven days a week until mid September when they revert to weekends only.

A whole grilled lobster served with garlic butter and herbs is yours for £16.50 while langoustines which have undergone the same treatment go for £11.50.

The shack sells wine, beer and champagne as well as a range of softies.

On the other side of the M8, Pinto is a new Mexican grill which is coming together on Queen Street.

They reckon that they will be feeding their first customer in the next two to three weeks and promise that they are going to offer something new for Scotland.

Their strapline is the slightly strange  ‘There’s a fiesta in my mouth and you’re all invited’.

We’ll report back with more info closer to the opening day.
