Oktoberfest

[][1]
A typical sight in Dundee. If you're drinking strong, continental lager.

For most of us, the word Oktoberfest summons images of Munich and frauleins in traditional costumes bearing massive foaming jugs of beer.

However, Munich is a bit far away for a night out while Dundee is much more manageable. The Dundee Rotary Club are holding their own Oktoberfest at Discovery Quay  from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October.

The event runs 6-11pm and will feature around a dozen live bands, 30 firkins of real ale; ten kegs of beer from our ale-loving neighbours in Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic plus platefuls of bbq steaks and German-style sausages.

Tickets are £6 which covers entry and the first pint. All profits go to charity.
