The Kanpai chefs man the sushi bar

Stac Polly, the Scottish restaurant on Edinburgh’s Grindlay Street, has made way for Kanpai Sushi.

As the name suggests, sushi is prominent on the menu along with what is probably the city’s largest selection of sake.Customers can sit at the tables or at the bar which has great views of the chefs working their magic.

Tempura, noodles, seaweed salads and grilled dishes complete the menu.

Kanpai is run by the same team that have run Sushiya on Dalry Road for the last five or so years. Sushiya was one of Edinburgh’s sushi pioneers.

The other two Stac Polly restaurants continue to operate on Dublin Street and St Mary’s Street.
