The blog liked the sound of the Great Western Chilli Cook Off which is taking place tomorrow afternoon in Glasgow’s West End.
Organised by the Lupe Pintos deli, ten of the West End’s bars and restaurants will be competing to produce the best chilli this side of the Rio Grande.
The idea is that chilli-heads cough up a tenner which entitles them to a taster of chilli in each of the venues. Each chilli is scored, the total votes are counted and the winner will be announced at Lupe Pinto at 6.30pm. Wandering street musicians will entertain the chilli-samplers as they graze between venues.
The participating restaurants are Stravaigin, Stravaigin 2, Tchai Ovna, The Lansdowne, Cafe Cherubini, Mancini, The Roxy 171, Taco Mazama, The Captain’s Rest and Bar Gambrino.
All the proceeds will go to Glasgow-based charities.
