The James Miller Room at Turnberry Resort

Ayrshire’s Turnberry Resort has long been a byword for upmarket glamour. From famous golfing duels to its breathtaking views of Ailsa Craig via the classic dishes served in its James Miller Dining Room, the resort offers plenty of reasons to visit.

On the afternoon of Sunday 30th October, they are running a Taste Turnberry showcase which will give visitors the chance to sample many of its culinary delights. The event will feature some of the best food and drink available in all the restaurants and bars throughout the resort from local, national and international producers.

Held in association with Champagne producer GH Mumm and Glenfiddich whisky, it will feature a range of hands-on activities and tastings in all of Turnberry’s restaurants and bars, accessible to all entrants at a cost of £20 per person.

Offerings on the day will include a seasonal afternoon tea with a glass of champagne in The Grand Tea Lounge; Scottish style tapas served with Turnberry’s new Ailsa Amber Ale; a buffet with signature dishes and interactive cooking experiences served in 1906 with a glass of red wine; a sumptuous sustainable fish dish within The James Miller room with a glass of white; a specially prepared dish in The Chef’s Table with a glass of white and in partnership with Glenfiddich, The Duel in the Sun bar will be offering a flight of three Glenfiddich whiskies aged 12, 15 & 18 years.

Children over six years of age will gain a real insight into ingredients used by Turnberry’s award-winning chefs as they are invited to participate in The Junior Chef Academy, focusing on a sensory dining experience where they can see and taste different foods. Spaces are limited at £5 per child.
