Ace of Spades champagne: 'cos Zac's worth it

Jaw-dropping story in The Mail today about the son of a Russian billionaire spotting Zac Efron in Board Room, a Chicago night club, and sending over a bottle of champagne.

He was obviously keen to impress the former High School Musical star as he didn’t just send over any bottle of fizz. This was a Nebuchadnezzar of Ace of Spades champers costing a cool $100,000 a pop.

That’s not a misprint. That’s one hundred thousand dollars for a very large bottle of bubbles.

The Russian’s final bar tab came to $112,550 but he kindly added a $22,510 tip.

This blogger’s memories of nightclubs is rather distant and fuzzy. Sticky dancefloors, the indie shuffle and cider ‘n’ black may have been involved.

Board Room is rather more classy. According to its website it ‘offers a privileged entrance for its clientele who wish to remain private while those that wish to make a grand entrance through the front door will be escorted to their table complete with secure purse drawers by their VIP host and introduced to their personal staff for the evening which includes a bottle server, server assistant and private body guard.’

Private body guard?

I’ve been in some dodgy late night dives but if a place was selling itself on offering private bodyguards I’d think twice.
