The blog dropped in on the new Brooklyn Bar and Grill on Ingram Street in Glasgow last night.

It replaces the well reviewed but short lived Balthassar brasserie which operated on the premises previously.

As the name suggests, American diner staples form the backbone of the menu with several varieties of burger taking pride of place alongside spaghetti and meatballs in chipotle sauce; half rack hickory barbeque ribs, steaks and deli-style sarnies.

Your blogger had a southern fried chicken burger with creamed corn. Mainly because I was tickled by its name: The Kernel.
