Ho, ho ho at Hotel du Vin

Hotel du Vin's courtyard: soon to be a winter wonderland

As Christmas approaches, Santa is said to be doing his Pilates stretching exercises; Rudolph is giving his team an encouraging pep talk and the elves have had their demands for better pension conditions met after threatening a series of wildcat strikes.

If you want to make like Santa and get in the festive mood, then you might want to think about toddling along to Hotel Du Vin’s Christmas Market in Edinburgh this Thursday evening. Running from 6-pm in the main courtyard, the scene will be set with plenty of twinkling lights, lanterns and a 12ft Christmas tree.

There will be carol singing round the tree from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Society along with hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies. The merriment will continue indoors with a Christmas Market where guests can enjoy a spot of late night shopping and browse a range of stalls including Peelham Farm, Clarks Cheese, Liggy’s Cupcakes, Christo’s Gallery, Arran Aromatics and Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Entry is free.

If all the singing gets your stomach growling along in accompaniment then HdV’s bistro is happy to help. They are currently running a 15% discount on the a la carte menu if you book through 5pm here.
