Haggis ahoy

[][1]
Robert Burns: poet and toast of haggis manufacturers

Burns night is next Wednesday and many of Scotland’s restaurants are running Bard-themed banquets to celebrate the old rhymer.

Hotel du Vin in Edinburgh is running an interesting event. Kicking off with a dram in their Whisky Snug at 7pm, the evening continues in their Burke and Hare private dining room for a three course dinner with wine and, you guessed it, more whisky.

In between courses, actors from Mercat Tours will recite Burns’ poetry and regale the audience with tales from his colourful life.

Tickets are priced at £50 per person plus a £1.50 booking fee. You can order them here.

Tomorrow, we’ll tell you all about the delights of Mexican haggis.
