New Year, New Bar

[][1]
Beer 'n' burgers. What more do you need?

Just before the festive period got underway and buried everything under an avalanche of mince pies, the blog heard about a new bar from the Fuller Thomson stable.

They are the clever people behind a number of rather spiffy boozers including the DCA in Dundee along with Holyrood 9a and Red Squirrel in Edinburgh.

Their latest project is a new bar in the Millhouse at the bottom of Byres Road. It’s their first venture in Glasgow. Called Bruadar, its motto is ‘heartfelt beers and burgers’; two food types which are close to the blog’s fatty heart.

They have around twenty different beer on tap at any one time with a mix of standards such as Tennent’s and Stella lining up besides Brewdog’s Punk IPA; Black Isle Porter and West’s excellent St Mungos.

Their wine list is refreshingly honest and divided into three sections labelled cheap, good and great. As well as a decent brunch menu, salads, sarnies and sharing platters are the order of the day along with a 20 strong selection of 6oz burgers.

Options range from The Original topped with fried onions and beer mustard mayo to The Chilli Death which… well you can figure that one out.

Bruadar is Gaelic for dream which seems fitting as the place will seem like one to anyone with a thirst for decent beer and a hunger for a good burger.

Incidentally, I’ve pinched the pic above from The Beer Monkey blog. If you like beer and live in Glasgow then its well worth  a swatch.
