Looking forward a bit, there is a fun event coming up at Cafe India on Albion Street in Glasgow’s Merchant City.
The chefs have teamed up with the Black Isle Brewery to investigate how well their Indian tapas match with the brewers’ concoctions.
The menu and beers featured will be:-
Poppadoms with Cafe India’s spicy onion pickle and a glass of Yellow Hammer
Kathe mithe king prawn matched to Heather Honey Ale
Chapati wrap matched to Goldeneye
Bhindi bhaji matched to Blonde
Lamb Chops matched to Porter
Indian Ice Cream float using Hibernator Ale
Dishes will be served one at a time, with the chefs sharing an explanation of how each tapa is prepared while the team from Black Isle will introduce each beer, explain how they are created and point out the flavours to look for in each.
It takes place from 7pm on Wednesday 28th March and costs £15 per head. You’ll need to be nippy; tickets are going quickly.
If you don’t get tickets then never fear. 5pm has a wide selection of fine curry purveyors who will be happy to sate any curry cravings.
