Mark Greenaway: going for Olympic gold with the Great British Menu

Mark Greenaway, top dog at his eponymous restaurant in Edinburgh’s No 12 Picardy Place is the only Scottish-based chef representing Scotland in the forthcoming series of the Great British Menu.

He is up against Alan Murchison of L’Ortolan in Berkshire and Colin Buchan of London’s York and Albany. Jeremy Lee, who appears to be going great guns at a revamped Quo Vadis in London, will be doing the judging along with Prue Leith, Matthew Fort and Oliver Peyton.

Greenaway was pipped to the post when it came to the Most Innovative Restaurant prize at the recent Scottish Restaurant Awards. However, since the eventual winner was Castle Terrace, who went on to scoop Restaurant of the Year award, we’re sure that he is keeping his head held high.

The Great British Menu is now in its seventh series and Greenaway is competing to see if his dishes will feature in The Olympic Feat finale of the show.

The series will begin to air from Monday 9th April on BBC2.

To celebrate, the chef has created a special Great British Menu offer featuring a 3 course menu, amuse bouche, pre-dessert and glass of bubbles for the set price of £30 pp

The celebratory offer is available for both lunch and dinner from Tuesday – Saturday.
