Get your ‘tache on for Movember

The 5pm Dining blog is feeling surprisingly chipper after spending last night at a fun whisky tasting in aid of Movember.

Including whiskies from mothballed Japanese distilleries; a 30 year old Talisker and a recreation of an old Grant’s blend which was never released, it was quite a special event.

Organised by the good people behind the Edinburgh Whisky blog, it took place at the very hip Ruffians barber shop on Edinburgh’s Queensferry Street.

Drinks consultants Solid Liquids got the party started with cocktails topped with grapefruit peel moustaches.

As well as raising cash, the aim of the bash was to draw attention to Movember, the charity dedicated to improving men’s health.

From November the 1st, tens of thousands of men around the world will be growing their mos to raise funds and awareness of the issues surrounding testicular and prostate cancer.

The Ruffians will be doing their bit for Movember by offering by offering free mo trims and styling advice throughout the month, as well as half-price shaves on 31st October and 1st Movember.

All you need to do is sign up to their team.

You can check for Movember events in your area from here.
