Glasgow is renowned for its vibrant dining scenes and there are always exciting new restaurants arriving to raise the bar even higher. Here’s the ones we’ve recently welcomed to 5pm.
The Hyndland Fox
Situated on Clarence Drive in leafy Hyndland, The Hyndland Fox is a relaxed neighbour hangout that suits everything from an evening dinner of lobster and fizz to a morning sipping a hand roasted Chemex coffee. The restaurant hosts regular theme menus from the Sunday roast to Tuesday night fish pie.

The Fish People Cafe
Since its launch in 2012, The Fish People Cafe in Glasgow’s Scotland Street has established a stellar reputation, winning the best seafood restaurant award at the Scottish Restaurant Awards and Best Newcomer at The List Eating and Drinking Guide Awards. Expanding from the fishmonger next door, The Fish People Café has access to Scotland’s finest seafood and the kitchen likes to treat it with an admirable simplicity. Popular starters include the Cumbrae rock oysters on the half shell; the Greenland prawn cocktail with fennel shavings and Loch Fyne smoked salmon served with pickled cucumber and a dill mustard dressing. See what they did with salmon on a recent 5pm blog post.
