Once again the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust Scottish Game Fair is taking place in the grounds of Scone Palace.
Running from Friday to Saturday, it’s a must for anyone interested in country sports and it’s a fun day out for all the family. Last year, more than 34,000 people attended.
Attractions in the main ring include the Savage Skills Mountain Bike Stunt Team; Pipe Bands from Vale of Atholl, Blairgowrie and City of Perth; dog and duck displays; a Tug-O-War (Friday only) and terrier racing.
Try your hand
More hands-on activities on offer include fly casting, clay shooting competitions, archery, quad bikes and a climbing wall.
Naturally, the 5pm Dining blog is most concerned with the catering arrangements. Helping to mark 2015 Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, over 50 producers will be at the fair.
Visitors can look forward to tablet, smoked salmon, lobsters, fresh salads and dressings – gathering all the necessary for a top notch picnic won’t be difficult.
In the Cookery Theatre in the Food Hall, Christopher Trotter will be overseeing a series of chef demos as the ‘foodie in residence’.
