Forget snowdrops and ribbons or however that song goes, gin and afternoon tea are definitely a few of this blogger’s favourite things.

So when Glasgow’s Baby Grand restaurant gave us the triple whammy of news that 1) they were hosting a gin theme afternoon tea 2) they would be giving us a 5pm Big Deal for it and 3) they wanted the 5pm blog to go along and sample it, we were very excited.

It was scorching 25 degrees when we attended afternoon tea at Baby Grand, perfect weather for taking the tea outside on the dining terrace.

The garden furniture and sun on our backs was the perfect setting for the afternoon tea, which included refreshing summer dishes like cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches, a gin flavoured mousse, and a gin cocktail infused with strawberries.

The afternoon tea was tailored around Boe Gin and the salmon gravadlax and mousses were flavoured with Boe Gin. There was also a G&T cupcake and of course, the teapot serving of a Boe Gin cocktail.

It was the perfect marriage of two favourite British traditions.
