There’s an elegant new spot in Glasgow’s West End to have afternoon tea.

The recently opened Terrace, which is within the Hilton Grosvenor Hotel at the top of Byres Road, has plush surroundings of a grand piano, a stylish bar and furnishings in muted tones.

The large windows look out out onto Grosvenor Terrace, a row of Venetian townhouses which make up what has to be one of the most handsome streets in Glasgow.

Across the road is Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens which have inspired The Terrace’s afternoon tea – one of the teas offered is a blend with fragrances inspired by the botanicals in the park.

The Terrace takes the tea part of their afternoon tea seriously; guests can choose from a selection of jars of loose leaf teas created by Chash, with everything from traditional English Breakfast to Rose hip.

And they take the food part of the afternoon tea seriously too, offering a mouthwatering range of sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and desserts, including cream brûlée, chocolate mousse and mini trifles.
