A blind wine teasing may sound like a scene from 9 and a ½ Weeks but it’s actually a slightly new take on wine tasting being tested by Edinburgh’s Tapa bar.

Run by a veteran of Edinburgh’s tapas restaurants, it’s a recently opened Leith joint which is blogged about in more detail here.

It’s only been open a couple of months but Tapa is already on to its second wine tasting. Blind tastings usually involve trying to identify wines from bottles with hidden labels.

This evening’s shindig starts with guests sampling a selection of Spanish wines before the bottles are covered up. They then have to try and recognise and match the wines that they have just tasted. In theory, it should be a lot easier than a traditional blind wine tasting.

The evening kicks off at 7.30pm and the £15 tickets include a selection of tapas.
