Section 33
Section 33’s latest project will help Action For Children’s Moving On project.

Pop-up restaurant specialists Section 33 have another top secret event starting soon and it helps Action for Children’s Moving On Project.

A couple of weeks ago, we blogged about the Dine Out promotion which 5pm Dining ran recently to help Action For Children (ACF).

In Scotland, ACF’s Moving On Project helps turn around the lives of young men who have been in Polmont Young Offenders institution.

The project aims to reduce the risk of reoffending. Over 80% of the young men taking part in the project don’t return to prison.

Part of the project includes YesChef, a programme that trains six young men with cooking skills.

Those six trainee chefs are helping Section 33 as they plan their latest Glasgow pop-up.

Section 33: life changing event

Section 33 pop-ups use unconventional spaces for their dining rooms.

Billed as a ‘life changing event’, the pop-up takes place over five days from Wednesday 3rd-Sunday 7th May 2017.

At the time of writing, the pop-up location remains a secret.

Although their social media seems to be hinting at a possible dockland address.

We think the location will be released very soon. Watch this space.

The Section 33 will be taking the AFC chefs under their culinary wings and inviting them into the Section 33 kitchen to learn and experience what they do.

The idea is to equip the young trainees with the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare, and cook at the highest level.

Six course tasting menu

The next Section 33 pop-up will consist of a six-course tasting menu which celebrates seasonal Scottish produce.

Matched wines will be available as well as a drinks list from amazing local producers.

Diners can also look forward to being accompanied by some of Scotland’s best up and coming musicians.

Tickets cost £40 per person for the six course menu, an arrival cocktail, and music from the best local up and coming musicians.

You can buy them here. You pay £5 to book your seat and the balance of £35 on the night.
